Eligibility Criteria
â—Ź Students seeking admission to UM-DAE CEBS under General/OBC/EWS category
should have secured at least 60% marks in class XII or an equivalent examination. For
SC/ST/Divyangjan categories, the eligibility criterion is 55% marks. For Central/State
Boards using a 10-point scale, these would correspond to CGPA of 6.0 and 5.5
respectively. Where only letter grades are available, a certificate from the concerned
Board specifying equivalent percentage of marks is required to be submitted. In absence
of such a certificate, the decision of the admissions committee of the concerned
institution will be final.
â—Ź Student seeking admission to UM-DAE CEBS for the integrated M.Sc. Programme
2023-2028 should be from regular science stream only and preferably should have any
combination of at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and
Physics in class XI and XII.
â—Ź Students must have passed class XII examination or equivalent from any recognized
Board in India in the years 2021, 2022 or 2023.
â—Ź The student should have been born on or after August 1, 2003. The age limit is relaxed
by 5 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Divyangjan categories.
â—Ź Students applying under the J&K/Ladakh quota should have the J&K/Ladakh Domicile
certificate and must have passed their class XII examination from State Board or CBSE
affiliated school located in J&K/Ladakh.
â—Ź It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the above criteria have been met
and UM-DAE CEBS will not be held responsible for later disqualification of the
candidate not satisfying any of these requirements.

granted, and in the case of a student seeking admission to the course
by research, on the recommendation of the Chairmen of the
Committee of recognized Teachers in the subject concerned before
recommending such applications, the following procedure shall be
followed:-
A written test consisting of 2 papers as under shall be administered in
the subject in which the student desires to register for his M.A.
degree.
i) An essay paper in the subject,
(ii) A paper to test the student’s general acquaintance with the subject
The change of Faculty Test required to be given by the students has
been waived in case of students who desire to register with the
Directorate of Distance Education.
N.B. : Candidates shall be given a list of books for period reading
before they are examined.
